These reports were published in January 2011.
“The Scottish Government conducted a public consultation on its draft Detailed Statement of Policy ( DSP) for Scotland’s Higher Activity Radioactive Waste (Ref 1) and the Environmental Report ( ER) ( Ref 2) on the Strategic Environmental Assessment of the Policy. These documents were published on 15 January 2010 along with a Supplementary Information ( SI) document ( Ref 3) providing additional factual information to assist respondents. Responses were requested by 9 April 2010, and extended for those who were unable to meet this deadline. The last response was received on 26 May 2010.
During the initial January to April 2010 consultation period a number of meetings were held with a wide range of stakeholders at locations around Scotland. Following the initial analysis of responses, further meetings were held between September and November 2010 with stakeholders, including organisations and individuals who responded to the consultation. These meetings provided feedback on the initial analysis and outlined the proposed Scottish Government response to the comments received.”

This report was published September 2010.
“This publication provides estimates of Scottish greenhouse gas emissions data for 2008. Except where stated, the emissions figures shown in this release include an estimate of emissions from international aviation and shipping. The release also provides information on the performance against emission targets taking account of trading in carbon units.
Key points
- In 2008, Scottish emissions of the basket of six greenhouse gases are estimated to be 56.1 million tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent (Mt CO 2e). This is 3.0 per cent lower than the 2007 figure of 57.8 Mt CO 2e. Between 1990 and 2008, there was a 20.0 per cent reduction in emissions.
- When emissions are adjusted to take account of trading in the EU Emissions Trading System ( EUETS), emissions reduced by 3.7 per cent between 2007 and 2008 (from 57.5 Mt CO 2e to 55.3 Mt CO 2e). Compared with the 1990 base year 1, emissions in 2008 (after taking account of trading in the EUETS) were 21.2 per cent lower.”

This report was published in June 2010.
“This is the fourth annual report since Scotland’s Climate Change Programme was published in 2006. There has been significant progress in climate change policy in Scotland in recent years and we now have our own statutory framework in the form of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act. This report provides a summary of achievements in 2009-10 related to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
This report is comprised of 7 sectoral reports as well as an update on cross-cutting issues such as carbon assessment and adaptation. This is not an exhaustive list of progress in 2009-10 but provides a general overview of key activities in each sector with weblinks to further information where appropriate.
In future reporting duties will be determined by the Climate Change (Scotland) Act. Some of these reporting requirements start in 2010, but not all. It is therefore likely that there will be a further Annual Report, similar to this one, for 2010-11. Future reporting duties outlined in the Act include:-
- Provision of a statement of net emissions and whether relevant annual target has been met, plus:
- breakdown of carbon unit use;
- Scottish electricity consumption and generation; and
- average emissions from electricity generation
- Report on proposals and policies for meeting annual targets each time a batch of targets is set.
- A report on progress from the relevant body (Committee on Climate Change);
- Ministerial response to Committee on Climate Change ( CCC) report on progress;
- Reports on emissions attributable to Scotland’s consumption of goods and services;
- Progress on the Adaptation programme.”
