The Scottish Government issued this document recently which outlines their approach to energy policy.
“Energy policy can contribute to economic growth while at the same time helping ensure that growth is sustainable. Energy use is one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions, emissions which threaten the sustainability of our planet. However, it is clear that there is an opportunity to exploit Scotland’s comparative advantage in energy resources while meeting the carbon challenge.”
Scottish Government Social Research issued this publication yesterday which provides a picture of weans’ participation in cultural and sporting activities in Scotland.
“Around half of young people have visited a library at least once in the last 12 months, with most doing so to borrow or return books or use computers or the internet. Among non-users, more than half say they have no need to use the facility and two in five prefer to do other things in their spare time or say they have no interest in libraries.”
“No interest in libraries”!?!?!?! I’ll have to go and have a wee lie down. They’ve obviously never experienced the excitement of this here Government Publications blog.
